NEMISA ELECTRONIC MEDIA
The
third week at National Electronic Media (NEM) has been an exciting and
educational experience for me as a student studying End User Computing (EUC).
During this week, I had the chance to explore more about how technology
supports the daily operations of a large media organization. It helped me
connect what I’ve learned in class to real-world situations, giving me a better
understanding of the role of end-user computing in the media industry.
One
of the main activities during the week was getting to know the Maths support
team. This team is responsible for maintaining the technology used across the
organization, from the newsroom to the production floor. I observed how the maths
staff handles a variety of software and hardware problems that arise daily.
Whether it’s a computer issue or a network glitch, the technical team ensures
everything runs smoothly so that the media team can continue producing content
without delays. I also had the opportunity to assist with some minor
troubleshooting tasks under the guidance of the Mathas professionals, applying
some of the problem-solving techniques I’ve learned in my EUC studies.
